ASCT Services, Inc. is a for-profit business organized under the auspices of the American Society for Cytotechnology (ASCT), a non-profit professional organization.  Headquartered in Matthews, North Carolina, ASCT Services was incorporated in 1998 by ASCT to:

  • Fulfill federal and state contracts for the inspection of cytology laboratories and other profit-potential activities approved by ASCT
  • Create and implement Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) monitors for these activities

ASCT was awarded the first government cytology services by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in 1988.  Since that time, ASCT and ASCT Services have been involved with seven, consecutive government cytology contracts.

ASCT Services’ team members have been called on to provide CLIA training for states, accrediting agencies, professional organizations and laboratories.

ASCT Services maintains the highest professional standards in cytology with eight professionals specialized as STLs, more than 60 supervisory-level cytotechnologists serving as consultant cytotechnologist and 10 board-certified cytopathologists active as consultant cytopathologists.
